Dear Church Family,
We would like to share with you about the short-term mission trip we’ll be taking on this July to the Navajo people in Arizona.
We have two main goals for this trip:
- To support and strengthen the ministry of Hope Christian Alliance Church of the Navajo Nation pastored by Pastor Kevin McCarthy.
- To share the love of Christ with the Navajo people. To do this, our team of 10 will be hosting a two-day Vacation Bible School for elementary-aged children in the morning and a work/service project in the afternoon (possibly sharing our testimonies in the community flea market). In the midst of doing ministry together, we hope to train up new leaders and that each of us will develop a deeper passion for missions.
Here’s a glance at our schedule:
7/9 – Fly to Phoenix, AZ; drive 4-5 hours to Shonto Mountain
7/10-11 – VBS in the morning, work project in the afternoon, evening debrief
7/12 – Sunday worship, drive to Phoenix, fly back to LA.
Here are ways you can pray for us:
- Flexibility as this is our church’s first trip to this location and partnering with the churches in Arizona
- This is the first mission trip for some
- Health and safety of our entire team, especially as we travel and do ministry
- That we will depend on God and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading
- Boldness in sharing God’s love with those we meet
- Raise enough financial support for the trip, which costs $400/person (Cost includes airfare, van rental, food, VBS materials)
A trip like this cannot happen without the support of friends and family. We covet your prayers. If you also feel led to support us financially, we would be very grateful. If you cannot, please know that we appreciate your prayers and encouragement as we continue preparing for this trip.
